Karen
CEO

Karen is the founder and CEO of COCOAbi brand. Her first real job was in the US Air Force where she worked as an Information Management Specialist. After four years active duty she came back to Connecticut to be near family. Here she worked part time while working on her degree to allow her to be home to raise the kids.

At the ripe old age of 30, Karen went back to college to get a degree, determined to do something exciting with her life. Karen has a BS in Business Administration, from Post University. However, she started out her college career as an art major looking to embrace her creative streak. Karen has always had an eye for design, color, and textures. After two years of art school she decided to switch to business, concerned she would have a difficult time finding a job to help support her growing family.

For the last 15-years she has been working as a Director of Human Resources. This position has provided her the opportunity to fine tune her business acumen and understand how businesses work locally and nationally. However, working in HR does little to feed her creative side-which is how COCOAbi was born. While she still works in HR fulltime, the creation of COCOAbi has allowed her to get back to using her creative brain. In her role as CEO, along with her daughter Abigail and daughter in-law Colby, she has the pleasure of selecting unique designs for parents and caregivers to keep their babies and toddlers safe, warm, and secure.

Karen and her husband of 24 years, John, reside in Terryville, CT where they raised their three children Mason (26), Abigail (25) and Garrick (21). With the kids grown, they now enjoy biking, hiking, and traveling with their family and dog Si. Karen is an avid yoga practitioner and practices yoga several times per week.
